The other morning when Lincoln came to me carrying this cute sign (I told Brandon about it and he found it for me on Etsy) that I have yet to get in a frame, I thought it was going to be one of those days!

It actually was a day not much different than any other day with a 2 year old, a newborn and a husband working so hard on his PhD. But on any given day, I often think of these words (Keep calm & Carry on) along with Pres. Monson's counsel in Gen. Conf. to, "not let problems to be solved become more important than people to be loved." With these quotes/sayings in mind, when Lincoln is exploring his independence and is trying to pour himself a bowl of cereal which of course ends up all over the floor, forgets about his water/milk and flings his arms around out of excitement which of course sends the water/milk on the floor, or has to get out every single toy and book he owns all out at the same time, or tries to pick up Grant (but so far Grant hasn't ended up on the floor, thank goodness), or many other of Lincoln's little 2 yr. oldness, it's really quite alright. It makes me think of a song my mom use to sing...
"Hold him a little longer
Rock him a little more
Tell him another story
You've only told him four.
Let him lay on your shoulder
Rejoice in his happy smile
He'll only be (insert age)
For just a little while."
So there's a mess here and there, when I step back for a second it's actually quite funny and I am happy to know that he is just a normal 2 year old, he's my 2 year old! And he's really just my sweet, silly Lincoln.
I wanted to try on some boots we got him to make sure they fit...wouldn't take them off all morning. He just wanted the boots and his blankie. He never carries his blankie around!!?

His little imaginagtion is growing. Each of his stuffed animals have personalities, some are naughty and some are nice. He loves to play with all of them. Lately he's wanted them in shorts, diapers, bandaids (if they fell out of the crib), and he thinks they need snacks and water too.

Still thinks Grant is the greatest. Loves to give him kisses, "share" with him, and like in this picture, blow on his head or cheek. Grant is such a calm baby and is so good to let Lincoln do what he does.

When I went looking for him the other morning after changing Grant, Lincoln was running around with Grant's
little baby hat on. Lincoln was laughing and thinking he was the funniest ever. Yes, he knows he's funny.

Seriously, with a face like this, what's not to love?!!
